Need a couple of testers please!

Post by Rollie »

I have a new version ready that looks to be good to go for the 1.7 patch, but I would like to have a few folks check with it first before I make a general release.

If a few of you could try this out and report back to me on any issues you have, I would be greatly appreciative.

You can get version 2.7 of Census+ here:

http://www.warcraftrealms.com/censusmod ... 00-2.7.zip

I am most curious if a change I made concerning locale and date determination has corrected the "Unable to determine locale" bug for the EU players.

Other things that are new in 2.7:

- VERY IMPORTANT!!! The only place Census data will be saved after this version is in the /SavedVariables/CensusPlus.lua file
- The main census window is now movable
- You can now filter the main census window by level by clicking on a level bar (thanks to Tuatara for these changes)
- The 3 or less system messages should no longer show during a census
- Added locale display
- Put in checks for Karma modifications to the /who list
- Added a check to see if you are currently in a battleground when a Census runs, and if so, will cancel the snapshot. This is due to Blizzard only returning results for people currently in your battleground instance.

Please give this a shot and see if you have any problems. If I can go a day without any issues, I'll release this as a full new version and only allow submissions with version 2.7.

k on uu i changed
Settings Tab -> File Location *\SavedVariables\CensusPlus.lua and deselected Auto-Path
Options Tab -> Miscellaneous -> file field named changed to CensusPlus

Uploaded data at 9:02 PST via Uni-Uploader
Server Response:
No File Found.

Ok, I messed with the settings.ini file for uu again and I *think* it uploaded the old file based on file size. still messin with it.

Xianna i would guess that you need to double check the uni-uploader path to the one on the site, and make sure you can turn off some of the advanced options, as theres no need for that now.

Thanks for that, got a fix in (but haven't updated the available version).

The interface on the site doesn't care about the filename so that shouldn't be it. I haven't played with UU yet to see if it can handle the new file locations. I checked the wowprofilers site last night and there was no update as of yet, but there was a forum post saying he was working on it.

Testing 2.7. No problems so far. I don't know if you fixed the bug with PaperDollFrame but it doesn't seem to be a factor with 2.7. I was doing MC last night for 3-4 hours and didn't encounter any bugs whatsoever.

Should I Start Using 2.7 Beta?

Post by WarheadoW »

Should I start using the 2.7 beta version at this point, or wait until there is a "stable" release version? Are there outstanding bugs to be resolved, or are things pretty much working as intended?

Tried out your 2.7 beta last night. It was the last AddOn added to my new addons and all the others had been working fine. Yours seemed to work fine, then upon next time into the Game, ALL Setting for EVERYTHING was reset and many AddOn's were not Functioning Properly.

Here is a list of my Installed AddOn's if that helps?

(*) denotes the AddOn that I Noticed that did not work at all.

Also noticed, on one Character, that I could not /say, /guild , etc.. but people in my Guild could hear/see what I typed though I Could not see anythign Happening on my screen.

Well that's not cool. I do hope that C+ wasn't what caused you to lose your settings. Thanks for mentioning though and I'll keep testing the latest to see if I come across anything like you describe.

I disabled C+ and now everything works fine, for some reason all my lua's also made bak's so I was able to restore the old settings.

Now for some reason it is meshing Fine with all those. Don't worry about testing till mine craps out on me again. It's not making too much sense anyway.

One thing that I keep hearing is that things are generally screwed up for a few times after the patch. Who knows...

Looks like memory use for ui's in general has gone up too, had to go up to 64MB now to get things to work. Maybe a particular ui mod but appears to be a general increase... *shrug*

It was really weird, I did my own compilation of mods. I grabbed the new versions, put them in 1 by 1, tested to make sure it was all good and then went on to the next. C+ had worked during it's first session, but the 2nd time I logged in to my acount I had the reset problem and other mod's not working. But like I said, all is working now, so don't fret yet.

p.s. Yeah, using Gatherer, Auctioneer, KillLog, and C+ I've put my mem usage to 128 for now, I"ll work it back down to see how much I truely need, but before the patch it was giving me fits when set at 72.
