Claiming a Guild Just Like Claiming a Character... and..

Post by mspropst »

I was wondering if it would be possible so a guild leader could claim a guild and mark members as "Ex-Members" at will. Obviously so there couldn't be someone abusing the system and claiming a guild that they are not the leader of and has no members using Wow Census....

Only members that hadn't been seen online in 30+ days could be marked as Ex-Members. At least that way if they hadn't been logging on it's highly possible they were kicked from the guild. If they log on after 30 days and are actually still in the guild, WowCensus will mark them as so and whoever is misusing the site would have to wait another 30 days to do so basically making it pointless for them to even try.

Reason I ask is I've got people stuck in my guild on WowCensus since it was founded who are level 2 and level 7 or even no longer exist, however since they're obviously not logging on anymore, WowCensus isn't picking up that they are no longer members :(

Interesting idea. However, it might be better if the process was handled automatically by the site. Anyone who was not seen for, say 30, 45 or 60 days would switch to "Inactive" status and listed as such in the Ex-members list and the specific character's history. That way they would not clutter the guild member lists, but if they were seen again later, they would simply resume their former guild status.

That way, there would be no way to abuse the system short of someone who was solely gathering info on a specific realm and faction falsifying his / her .lua files by manually deleting specific character(s) from them before every submission.
